Looking for a futuristic fix for your next vehicle? You could plop down $110k for an Audi R8, but then isn’t the future supposed to be about building a greener planet? Yeah leave the R8 for me, instead, have a look at the Aptera.
The Aptera is as futuristic a car as you can get in today’s market. Slated for release at the end of 2008, the Aptera was designed from the ground up as an electric vehicle, and later as an extended range electric vehicle. Of course, the first question I had is how fast is it? Well according to their website:
At this time we are not able to post hard numbers on performance, although top speed for the production model will exceed 85 mph, going from 0-60 in under 10 seconds.
In comparison to other hybrid/electric vehicles, that ain’t half bad.

The second question I had was how much:
The approximate price for the all electric version is $26,900 and the plug-in hybrid $29,900. These prices are subject to change any time before we begin production.
Not too shabby considering the future appeal. Of course, my money’s still in the bank as I hold out for the R8.
