Top 10 Casual and Flash Gaming Websites found on the web.

Keeping up with the Free Games world has continuously kept me looking for new ways to improve on my own site. Of course, inspiration is only a hop, skip, and a jump away when I remember my top 10 favorite Casual Gaming websites :razz: . The list I have laid out includes some of the heavy hitters of flash gaming that have been here for years, flaunt huge member communities, and collect millions in funding in their own special way. All in all, they’ve got to be doing something right. Find out who’s who in this gaming jungle…

10. TeaGames

TeaGames holds an Alexa rank of 5,500. They have a fair share of games that are exclusive to the site and they offer an abundance of fun.

9. CandyStand

CandyStand has an Alexa ranking of 4,141. All of the games on the site are glorified advertisements for the Wrigley brand. They have a vibrant member community and regularly give back to the community via contests.

8. Kongregate

This brings us to the new giant in the group. Kongregate seems to have come from out of left field. Over this past year they’ve received funding of $5 million through venture capital, they’ve launched a unique games portal that is quickly becoming the talk of the grown up world, and they are planning to launch a new card game/API which will make use of their popular points system in an all too unique way. With a rank of on Alexa of 4,653 they are growing up owe so fast.

7. FreeWorldGroup

FreeWorldGroup has an Alexa rank of 3,459. There are some games on the site that can be downloaded and played right on your PC. They also sponsor many games. This means that your more than likely to run across this power house of gaming in your travels.

6. Crazy Monkey Games

Currently CrazyMonkeyGames has an Alexa ranking of 2,258. It doesn’t show up on the first page for many popular keywords, so one might ask, where does all the traffic come from? Well if you’ve played your share of flash games in the past then you may have run across one of CrazyMonkey’s Games And/Or Ads. Although CrazyMonkeyGames doesn’t have many games, they developed the ones on the site. They distribute some of their games to other webmasters, but some are exclusive to their site.

5. ArmorGames

Armor Games sponsors and develops some of the most fun games on the market today. They boast an Alexa rank of 1,643 and they should be proud. Thanks to their contests, which sometimes reach in excess of $10k in prizes, and the ingenious array of games, Armor Games continues to be a force to reckon with in the Casual Games Arena.

4. Shockwave

Shockwave has an Alexa Ranking of 860 and they’ve been providing user enjoyment since 1999. There age and time in the market has made Shockwave a household name and has also kept them in the front of the pack.

3. AddictingGames

Addicting Games has the backing of one of the most powerful entertainment companies in the world, MTV. It’s no wonder they have no problem staying ahead of the pack with their Alexa Ranking of 716.

2. NewGrounds

Newgrounds is, without a doubt, in a class all to it’s own. They currently hold an Alexa rank of 420, have one of the most active communities in the Flash Gaming world, and they have their own shop filled with all kinds of goodies. Definitely a head turner and definitely deserving of being at the top of this list.

1. MiniClip

MiniClip.com is one of the most popular websites on the internet, let alone in the Casual Gaming and Flash Gaming world. They have been around since 2000 and they don’t seem to be going anywhere, anytime soon. Alexa has deemed this site worthy of a ranking of 170.

Honorable Mentions: JayisGames

Honorable mentions go out to Jay is Games website. This site is a blog with an attitude, and a love for Flash Games. The site’s editors go to the far reaches of the web to find the best of the best in terms of flash and casual games, all for your enjoyment. In fact, the only reason they didn’t make the list was because of their Alexa rank of 17,284.

And there you have it folks, 11 great sites to get your game on at. Now go get a whole lot of nothing done. :thumbup:

  5. A little surprised I didn’t see big fish games on that list. They’re pretty sweet. THough I am a pretty big fan of addictinggames, too.
