It looks like Video Game giant, E.A. Games, is planning to release the next installment in their “Battlefield” series as a strictly free online download. So the question is raised then? How will they make money?
The answer here is quite simple really. They are going to follow in the footsteps of every other flash game website and oh wait, every other online game giant (think World of Warcraft without the monthly fee). They are going to charge advertisers for in game ad units, while also charging players for upgrades. This comes as no surprise to me as I have been hording a similar business model for my Arcade Site. Of course, my idea is not backed by a multi-million dollar corporation but hey, who’s counting. :1up:
