The word is out. It looks like Sun Microsystems has agreed to acquire our beloved MySQL for the small sum of $1 billion.
This is a match made in heaven. For MySQL it means corporate backing and a chance for another piece of great open source technology to rub shoulders with the big wigs. For Sun this means that they will gain the respect and network of millions of MySQL users everywhere. As a webmaster, I am all for the acquisition and happy for MySQL. Now does anyone want to offer me $1 billion? :megaman:
